WHAT WE DO
Mission
Since a Liberian civil unrest crisis created a generation of children of war, Waa Makor, the founder of Yilmeh Academy, has thought of having the mission to pull the youth from the hopeless conditions caused by the disaster.
Established in 2009, the school has a designed curriculum model that accommodates students’ needs. The school is built to educate, develop and inspire a number of children to become independent and self-sufficient individuals who will succeed and responsibly contribute to the society. And we, as the educators, are inclined to make the youth excel academically and acquire great skills, competence, and capacity to become leaders, humanitarians, and peacemakers for the near future.
Donation
Yilmeh Academy holds the principle that education is a gateway to self-reliance. But the lack of materials and supplies prevents us from serving more children, which lead us to look for donations from people who are interested in promoting educational opportunities in Liberia, West Africa.
We ask for the support of all educated and generous people in giving deprived Liberian children the option of education. The donations we are to receive will be for the school extension, payment for our teachers, and other necessities. With your participation, the school is sure to continue educating underprivileged children for years. Your donation matters!
Passionate Volunteers
If you are a kind-hearted person who likes to help other people without seeking any reward, Yilmeh Academy has opportunities available. We are open for all types of volunteers who can commit themselves to exert effort in addressing all the educational needs of the children in Liberia. The volunteers we ought to find are those who would help build a school for the students’ better learning. We are not requiring any kind of time and financial commitment, and a simple networking and promoting the organization is already a big help.
Let us work hand in hand and create something great. With your cooperation, you can change a number of children’s lives!
